“Like a genuine place, before the world went mad.”
The character is ‘old school’. No complaints.

Owner, comfort, cleanliness, service, and location – all excellent. Nothing to complain about.

It was quiet and comfy with a good shower and solid Wi‑Fi. The breakfast was okay, but a few boiled eggs would have made it better; more variety would be nice, honestly.

The spot was spot on for what I needed, right next to town and with reliable bus service just outside the property. Mick, the owner, handed me extra coffee sachets and milk when I asked, and Maura welcomed me warmly on arrival. The whole place was bone‑chillingly cold; central heating was off everywhere. I only had a tiny fan heater in my room to fight the chill, but it was noisy and unsafe to leave on overnight or when I wasn’t in the room. The breakfast, billed as “continental,” turned out to be a joke: dense, dry rye bread, cheese, ham, a few cereals, fruit cake, cookies, and yoghurts, plus toast and a handful of jams or marmalades—nothing hot. The breakfast room was freezing, so coffee and toast cooled instantly, and there was no hot food at all, just a single portable radiator that couldn’t warm the room. My room was just barely adequate, shabby and very basic, and I couldn’t wait to leave.
