The place was clean and the spot was quiet, which was great. The staff were easy to deal with, and I appreciated that there wasn’t much traffic on highway 4—last year we hit deer and totaled our car, so it was lucky they were close! On the downside, the deadbolt was broken and the door only opened with a half‑key and no handle. The front desk used the master key, so we were stuck in our room. The telephone was wrapped up and tucked in a drawer, and the bathroom sink had no hot water until we found the valve was shut off.

Nada. No respect for the reservation; you have to go every day to get the room opened because they don’t have extra keys.

The dog keycard system failed on every room, so someone had to unlock the door each time you left and returned. The room was dirty, the bathtub finish was nearly gone, and there were spiders in the tub. When we turned off an overhead light, it sparked and the smoke rolled out of the receptacle.
