“A true home away from home in Aswan – thank you, Omar!”

Staying at Saluga Guesthouse was nothing short of incredible, thanks to Omar’s extraordinary hospitality. From the moment my family and I arrived, Omar greeted us warmly and went above and beyond to ensure we felt comfortable and cared for. He arranged seamless boat trips across the Nile and cooked a wonderfully intimate, delicious dinner for us, paying close attention to every detail. Every morning’s breakfast was fantastic, the rooms were spotless, and the air conditioning worked perfectly—a welcome comfort. Aswan is beautiful, but Omar’s care made our experience truly special, and we couldn’t have asked for a better stay or a better host. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Aswan. The only downside was that the bed felt a bit hard, but that was manageable.

“An interesting Aswan island experience.”

We loved the river views and the double room with a balcony was comfortable. Staff member Omar was always on hand to ferry us to our various destinations in Aswan in his boat, a remarkably skilled captain who navigated the Nile cataracts expertly. The river journeys were fantastic, and Omar varied the routes to show us the sights. Breakfast was nice, and when we requested it, we received a bag of breakfast items for our 5am Abu Simbel tour. Dinner at the hotel was quite good. The island is remote, so you can’t just walk out; you rely on boat transfers. For example, to reach Aswan airport for a 6:00 international flight we needed a 3:45 boat to the West Bank and then a taxi transfer in the dark. We were anxious about this, but Omar coordinated it and everything worked out well. It would be really useful to have written information about hotel facilities and boat prices—not because they were expensive, but because we didn’t know how much they would cost—we were only billed at the end.

The spot is unbeatable, and the Nile view from my room was amazing. The AC worked perfectly, and the staff went above and beyond—helped me sort out tours and transport to the train station, even packed breakfast for me to take away. Nothing else to complain about!
