“Alles da was man zum Schlafen braucht, mehr nicht aber das reicht ja oft”
Everything I needed was there, but I couldn’t control the ventilation.
The location is in the center, the staff is very helpful, the place is clean and has a modern interior. Reception is open 24/7, there’s a bistro on the ground floor with a basic food selection, and on the top floor a lobby with a terrace where you can spend time outside the cabin. The cabin itself is comfortable and well‑furnished, but expect very limited space. The route from the train station to the accommodation via Hansaplatz or Steidamm was horrible on Sunday evening—streets were full of homeless people, drunkards, drug users, and other strange characters, with chaos everywhere—making me feel unsafe. This is unfortunately the reality of today’s Hamburg center.
The place was clean and had very nice people on the staff. There are toilets on every level. The showers were in the basement but it wasn't a big problem. Everything was very well maintained. You can rent slippers and a robe from 3.50 euros. I stayed in a single room and still had space in a corner for medium sized luggage and a big backpack. It needed some squeezing in but it was manageable. If you don't like limited space you can always leave your luggage for 3.50 - 5 euros at the front desk. Nothing. Wonderful stay. Everyone who is complaining in the reviews about "sketchy" neighborhood is the same people who try to gentrify places they're going to. On two different occasions I had asked people from surrounding shops and restaurants for help and they were more than helpful. Yes there are some addicts and homeless people but it's like that in the whole city
“Small but cosy”
I liked how snug the place was, but the spot was a bit off‑beat with people around offering questionable services just outside, and the capsule layout left little room. Also, I wish they’d handed us shower shoes instead of having us bring our own.
I like that for less than the price of a usual Airbnb, I get a clean space to rest during my visits. When I don't need a kitchen and I only use the room to sleep, it's the perfect option for literally bed and breakfast. I find it much cosier and more private than a hostel, and the beds and the cabins are always clean and pleasant to be in. Huge thanks to the staff who look after the living spaces and keep the area clean!. The location is a bit tricky, as there are a lot of shady characters on the street, if I can put it that way. That said, the staff and the security made every effort to mitigate the risks, and inside we felt safe
