Shinsaibashi Grand Hotel Osaka

There were friendly staff and a large breakfast buffet with free soft drinks. The room is really, really small and offers absolutely no storage space. The bathroom is also very cramped.

The room was far larger than most Japanese hotel rooms, giving plenty of space to open and unpack suitcases. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was good. The room stayed quiet, with no noise leaking from neighboring rooms, and the location was excellent. It was spotless, and there was a wide array of toiletries and amenities, including slippers and a bathrobe. The only drawback was the coffee from the free vending machines, which was not drinkable and, in my view, of very poor quality.

The location was convenient, close to the station and the shopping street along Shinsaibashi-suji. I didn’t encounter any inconvenience for living or shopping, and the bed in the room was comfortable, allowing me to relax. The staff helped me adjust the cleaning time to finish earlier and disposed of my personal items, which was very helpful. I went to the buffet breakfast every day, never got bored, tried many different dishes, and enjoyed them all. The downside was that many foreign guests used the lounge, and the noise level there was sometimes very loud, and after it was used and not cleaned well, it could feel unpleasant.

“Incredible value for money”

It was ridiculously cheap for how good it was; I expected it to be mediocre, but it was absolutely great, and I would have paid double and still written this review.
