“Pleasant”
A good spot for students needing a one‑ or two‑night stay. The only drawback is that calling times seem restricted, so you can’t call them freely.

The location fit our needs perfectly. Breakfast was not great the first morning but got a bit better the next. The room was light, clean, and comfortable; the bathroom was adequate. Staying at Universities offers good value. The bed was very high to get out of, so another chair would have helped, but we managed. We could have used more signage from the block to the cafe/bar, though a student kindly pointed us in the right direction.

Walking half an hour from the city centre, everything was tidy, parking was free, and the Wi‑Fi was solid. The breakfast, however, didn’t hit the mark, the bathroom was tiny, and the shower had a curtain that let the whole room get wet when you stepped out.

Breakfast is excellent. Parking is free and plentiful. Location is great for touring Kent by car and yet an easy walk into town. Room facilities are comprehensive. My wife mentioned there isn't a hairdryer but otherwise all the things you'd expect in a mid range hotel. The management and logistics are smooth. The price is an absolute bargain. If you have limited mobility this probably isn't the place for you. It's designed for young active students after all. It's a walk from car to reception, reception to room and from room to breakfast. And lots of hills and steps. All in a pleasant campus setting but not great if getting around is hard for you. It's a hike into Canterbury. Again pleasant and easy for us, but not for everyone. Some of the students can be a bit noisy (briefly) in the early hours. No trouble for sound sleepers. The mattresses are very firm and the showers effective but Spartan. It's a university hall of residence nothe Ritz
