“La suite 401 duplex ne vaut pas le coût”
The only advantage is the location between several metro stations, which is handy. I booked suite 401, a duplex with a terrace, and several things disappointed me: 1 – the space is ridiculously small; it’s listed as 33 m² on Booking, but the actual room is barely 13 m², maybe 20 m² of terrace. I’m 1.80 m tall and hit two walls; that only happens in hallways, not living rooms. 2 – the terrace, which should be a highlight, was dirty; it’s supposed to be private, yet other guests can just walk in because there’s no way to lock it from the inside, and it also holds all the external AC units that blow hot air—impossible in summer. 3 – Booking said extra beds were paid for adults. I asked for one for my 8‑year‑old daughter, expecting it to be free because children stay free, and the staff offered €20/night cash, a 24 % surcharge. I couldn’t convince them otherwise, and the Booking conditions changed afterward. So if I didn’t take their extra bed, children could sleep for free in the parents’ bed or on the floor. I declined and bought a cheaper inflatable mattress. 4 – Even though it’s listed, there’s no washing machine, which is a real problem. The building’s laundry isn’t accessible, and the nearest public laundromat is a solid 10 min walk. 5 – There are no wardrobes or shelves; only a rod for hangers and maybe the edges of the windows. 6 – We turned off the AC when leaving and turned it back on at night; it smelled damp—unpleasant.
