“Lovely relaxing stay, just what we needed, thank you!”

The location was beautiful, everything was well organised, communication during booking was excellent, and we had all the information we needed on arrival; the value for money was great. The barn was clean, set out nicely with everything we needed, and a nice touch was the access to puzzles, games and books—there was a small selection in the barn and more in the communal area, plus local take‑away info and walks. We brought our dog, who enjoyed his stay too, although he was too exhausted from the walks to use the doggy field that he would have loved.

We were able to check in late thanks to the host, and the room had plenty of amenities. The shower pressure was awful, especially on the second day when we had to wait for others; the room itself needed a clean—lights were dusty, cobwebs on them, and there were hairs on the toilet seat and the sink was dirty.

The phone signal was terrible (Vodafone), and even swapping to the recommended EE sim only improved it slightly. There was no Wi‑Fi on site, so my evening work on the project was severely curtailed—definitely not ideal for a business trip, even though the location is otherwise great.

“Located in a beautiful setting and great value for money”

The spot was stunning, though the local pub was under refurbishment and the fish‑and‑chip shop down the road was closed. We managed to grab some food from a nearby shop, and the room had a microwave, kettle, fridge, and everything else we could need. A dog‑walking field nearby was a big bonus. The lady who checked us in was super friendly and helpful. We absolutely loved it here—super peaceful, comfy, and amazing value for money. The showers were in a separate block, but that didn’t bother us. Unfortunately, there was no Wi‑Fi and phone signal was very weak.

“Apart from the squeaking noise from above our 3 nights stay was pleasant. Thank you!”

The room was spacious, warm, and cozy, with a very comfortable bed and fresh, clean bedding. The kitchen had everything we needed, even an electric cooker, which was a pleasant surprise. The communal shower area was very clean and practical. The farm’s location is great—close to walking paths, not far from an Asda store, and very near Alton Towers and a wildlife park. We’d love to return and try the caravans or camping next time. The room could use more hooks or storage for luggage, and the bed was too low so we couldn’t store anything underneath. In the bathroom, extra towel hooks would be nice. At night we could hear movement and floor squeaking from above, which was a bit disturbing, and we didn’t get a chance to ask if someone was living up there.
