Doubletree By Hilton Wellington

The room was spacious, breakfast was good, and the location was central. Inside, it was very dark; the tiny window made the room gloomy, the heating seemed to malfunction, and the TV stopped working properly every 20‑odd minutes.

“Great boutique hotel in such a convenient location.”

We loved the boutique vibe of the hotel, situated right in the heart of Lampton Quay near shops, restaurants, bars, cafés, and just a short walk to the waterfront; the ambience was lovely, the staff helpful and attentive, the room pleasant, breakfast options varied, and the dinner we had was delicious—definitely planning to return next time we’re in Wellington.

Stayed in a Junior suite which was clean, tidy and massive - although there was only 1 luggage rack to put 1 suitcase on which felt a bit odd given the massive space and floor area of the room. Breakfast selection was very minimal; just one small household toaster so there was a massive wait / delay for cooked bread and the selections of the buffet were just essentials. Being related to Hilton I expected a grander selection instead it felt quite basic / budget. We skipped breakfast the second morning due to experience from day one and went to a nearby cafe which we could order what we wanted and enjoyed it more. Room service took away 1 towel, but did not replace it which was a bit of a bizarre let down and no offer of nighttime turn down service
