The hot spring was good, but the ryokan felt like a steel‑concrete Japanese inn.

They understood that I’m a pescatarian and didn’t serve me meat, which I appreciated; the hot spring was very relaxing. The walls were thin, so hallway chatter and vibrations from the room next door could be heard, though I think other guests noticed it too and behaved politely, so the occasional nighttime noise was the only bother.

The place was clean and roomy, yet the building’s exterior looked outdated.

The staff were extremely friendly, breakfast was neat and tasty, and the room conditions were good; the bed was plush and the blanket had great volume, keeping me warm. The outdoor bath was fantastic, especially the open‑air area with winter wind—it was truly amazing. Considering all that, the price was the biggest advantage; it was so cheap I loved it! If I travel nearby again, I’ll definitely come back. The room lacked a hair dryer and the pillow was a bit uncomfortable. The bathroom was shared, and overall soundproofing was poor. The facilities were old, but given the price that wasn’t a major issue.
