The place is gorgeous with a stunning view of Mt Fuji! We tried the futons and still had two “European” beds just in case. The staff were genuinely kind and attentive; if you need anything, just let them know. The onsen is very pleasant. One tiny note about the hot water: on one of the three showers we encountered cold water.

The location is great if you want to see Mt Fuji from the room (provided it isn’t hidden behind clouds). When it does appear, it feels very close. The proximity to the lake is excellent and the property is quiet. The room didn’t have a shower, so we used the onsen for that, but we knew about it beforehand. You can book time slots. There’s also a common room where you can use a microwave. The room has a coffee machine and kettle. We were given a double bed that was very narrow, with a mattress that was rather firm and not very comfortable. Overall, the place looks a bit dated and could use some fresh paint or cosmetic repairs.

It’s really cheap, but that doesn’t mean the facilities or service are bad. It’s a bit above the price point. The view of Mt Fuji from the garden is exceptional. The onsen is reservation‑based, which is a plus.

The view of Mt Fuji is beautiful. It’s quiet, but within walking distance of a good bakery and a bit farther from the lake and restaurants. The spacious onsen/bathroom can be reserved in advance by room number.
