I love the charm and location—very close to the hot springs and the river for tubing, and Lava is small so everything in town is nearby; the staff was friendly and helpful. However, the motel needs renovation inside, the bed was uncomfortable with sinking springs you could feel, the outlet the microwave was plugged into wasn’t secured to the wall and just pulled out, the bathroom fan wasn’t working and the cover was left off exposing the inner fan, the toilet was likely original and had to be flushed multiple times to work, the AC unit was old and loud but worked okay, it was pretty clean and the tub and tile were newer, and there was a lamp fixed to the wall directly over the middle of the bed that I kept hitting with my arm all night. The pricing doesn’t reflect the condition of the rooms; for what I paid we shouldn’t have had these issues.

The location was great. We couldn’t check in on time, and they couldn’t provide extra pillows, towels, or anything else. The AC worked, but the beds were super uncomfortable with almost no pillows.

It was close to what we wanted. The A/C was loud, the tub was old, and there were spiders everywhere.

It was very close to the springs and the river, and we could walk to all the shops. The place looks like it hasn’t been updated since the 50s, the bathroom smelled like a well‑maintained porta‑potty, the bedding was probably as old as the property, and ants were everywhere.
