The resort was fantastic; every staff member I met was friendly and helpful. The facilities exceeded my expectations, and the restaurants were all very good, so despite the high price I felt it was worth it. The nature lodge rooms I booked were away from the main lodge, which was fine, but when it rained it was inconvenient. I also didn’t receive much information about the restaurants before arrival, and even after emailing for a reservation I got no reply.

The hotel sits in a remote area, yet it’s very quiet and offers views of the beautiful Allgäu Alps. Hotel 5S meets its standards and I can only recommend it further. The house, staff, rooms, wellness areas, swimming ponds, sauna, shops, restaurants and terraces are all top quality! Though I’ve traveled a lot, the Sonnenalp Hotel ranks among the best places I’ve stayed. Running a private hotel of this size is incredible, and I can only congratulate the Fäßler family. A slight drawback is the long walk to the restaurants because of the hotel’s size, but a bit of exercise isn’t bad.

I always love the great atmosphere. Just arrive, feel at ease, and everything is taken care of – parking, luggage, or a refreshing drink. The spa area is super nice, very clean, easy to reach, and perfect for relaxation. I also enjoyed the organized hike with a local guide!

A comfortable, nice room with a beautiful view. The bathroom is well kept. The beds are very good. Because I could open the balcony door, it wasn’t too warm.
