Service delivery. The bedding
“Average stay. Doesn't feel 5 star. Food and restaurants excellent.”
Food was excellent. Breakfast was great. Dinner chefs were exceptional. Service from waiters and restaurant staff was very good. Great scenic location. Just over an hour from Cape Town. We used to be regulars at Arabella and have not stayed for years. The recent experience since operated by Southern Sun was average. It doesn't feel like a 5 star hotel. After arriving from a long drive from Cape Town, upon check in, no welcome or refreshments offered. Check out service also average. Lack of flexibility and wanting to accommodate guests for example wanting to charge for late checkout. Although rooms have been upgraded, the property is showing its age. The main outdoor pool was green

The room was good; the staff were superb. The spa was excellent and the breakfast was good. The dinners were poor. The quality of the food was not anywhere close to the standard that I would expect from a hotel of this caliber
