Old, traditional, but dirty carpets in the hallways, food not great, the bathroom area unfinished, no pillow protectors used, and the windows can’t open because the sashes are very old.

A large, clean, tidy room with tea and coffee facilities and toiletries; the bed and pillows were comfy, staff were friendly and helpful, but I’m picky, so I’d have liked Nespresso hot chocolate pods and a bigger TV.

The location was great and the staff were friendly. When we mentioned the TV was broken, they offered compensation right away and said sorry a bunch of times. We did feel the room wasn’t ready when we got there—soap and hand cream dispensers were empty, we had to request milk, and the TV still didn’t work. Three different people tried to fix it but couldn’t. The breakfast didn’t suit us; we’d rather have unlimited cereals and toast with no limits on drinks.

The spot was spot on for all the places we wanted to hit, and the food—wow, not just the usual pub grub, a real spread with loads of options. Breakfast was top tier: full English, everything freshly made with local produce, and those homemade baked beans were a hit. The area around Robertsbridge is pretty nice, but there’s not a ton of other things to do or see.
