The hot spring had a charming atmosphere and I wanted to soak forever. For older guests, climbing the stairs was tough, especially with heavy luggage that felt like it might fall; I would have liked someone to bring it to the room at least.

The water was good. The meals, however, lacked flowers and felt like home cooking, except for the Iwana dish.

The spring water quality and the grilled saltwater fish were excellent. The futon was thin and caused back pain.

The onsen lived up to expectations, never crowded and fantastic, with the ability to soak all night boosting satisfaction; the food focused on local dishes and was enjoyable, and the staff’s friendly, heartfelt service impressed me. Overall I left satisfied and had no real complaints, though I think the women‑only hours at the first bath could be a bit longer, the dinner starting promptly at 18:00 would have been better if the grilled rockfish arrived piping hot, and the pricing would feel nicer if it were closer to that of Sansen‑yū.
