The staff greeted me warmly and were friendly, the room was pleasantly sized and comfortable, and the breakfast spread was huge—no complaints at all.

I booked a single room on the top floor during the hottest day of the year and it felt like an oven—no fans, no place to hang clothes, and the only seat was an old dining chair. The bedside lamp had to be set on the floor because the cabinet was missing, and there were very few accessible plug sockets. On the bright side, the breakfast was excellent.

The staff were outstanding and really went out of their way to make our stay comfortable; we arrived 10 minutes before kitchen close and the bar team/host still took our order while we carried our luggage to the rooms and then returned to seat us for dinner. The only drawback was the shower: it took 10 minutes to heat up and was set a bit too low, so as a 6ft 3 male I struggled to wash anything above my shoulders.
