For nature lovers or walkers, the location is fantastic—a small farm village where cows and chickens still roam (a hobby beekeeper is nearby). The valley is at 1600 m, offering beautiful views and many activities and nature within a short distance. The beds are good and the apartments have plenty of space. There are two apartments; most photos are of the one downstairs in the inn itself, while the kitchen photo is from the newer apartment opposite the church. Both are fine, but the newer one feels more recent and has a more practical layout. It’s great if you really want to disconnect. If anyone in your group relies on Wi‑Fi, the newer apartment isn’t recommended, as it has no Wi‑Fi and sometimes no 4/5G connection depending on the provider. It should be fine if you don’t need Wi‑Fi, but if you do, choose the apartment in the inn itself.

A super spacious and pretty vacation apartment, a really good breakfast, and most of all very friendly hosts! We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back.

“Ein absoluter Glücksgriff südlich vom Haidersee”

While touring the Alps I happened to find the Gasthof Gemse. I was looking for a starting point for a hike to the Uinaschlucht. The inn masterfully blends tradition and modernity, the two hosts are absolutely lovely, and the dinner is amazing :) If I ever return to the area and need a place to stay, I’ll know exactly where to look.

“Erholung pur”

The food cooked and plated by the chef himself, the excellent service, and the very friendly staff. The package fit perfectly. You just have to come back.
