“Come a casa!”

Island Zephyr is a small family‑run property on the Gooidho islet. What we appreciated most was the local island atmosphere and the staff’s willingness to meet every request. We dined each evening at the resort’s restaurant, pre‑ordering our menu, and always ate very well. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable, and the bathroom functional. We went snorkeling, had a sunset fishing trip, and explored nearby islands. During one excursion we didn’t receive enough guidance to navigate the islet, so clearer instructions would have helped us make the most of our time. It would also be nice if the snorkeling activity included photos.

The highlight of the stay was the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff, especially Nisha and her family, whom my mom and I enjoyed spending time with. Their warmth and hospitality more than compensated for the island’s remoteness. The Wi‑Fi in the upper rooms could be better.

The Island Zephyr is the kind of place you want to return to again and again. The atmosphere feels cozy and intimate, making you feel like a valued guest instead of just a stay‑er. Every detail is thought through—from the welcome drink and the touching frangipani flower necklace that greeted us, to the bed that feels like sleeping on a cloud with a soft yet firm mattress, perfect pillows, and a real back‑rest after a day on the water. A special shout‑out to Nuwan, the person who truly embodies the hotel’s spirit; he does more than just his job, he lives it. He showed us the best spots nearby, was always reachable, and solved any issue faster than we could even phrase it. His snorkeling company is a bonus: he knows every reef and fish, turning dives into exciting adventures. Nuwan is incredibly warm, open, and kind. Island Zephyr gives you a home‑away‑from‑home feeling even when you’re thousands of kilometers from your hometown. Thanks for the magic! We’ll definitely come back.

It was raining when I arrived, but the staff were super friendly and helpful. I went outside with a huge umbrella to film the rain, and then a hotel guy came to pick me up in a buggy because he didn’t want me to get caught in the rain. I ended up making him take me deeper into the forest to keep filming the rain. 10 points for the staff!!!
