Breakfast was great and the staff were lovely; they could have stocked some snacks in the foyer. On confirmation they told us there were no lifts and that we could request a ground‑floor room. Nothing else was an issue.

The room was nice, but the Wi‑Fi didn’t work, the TV lost signal when I plugged my laptop into the outlet, and some guests were noisy at 4 am.

The location is good, the night markets, lagoon and shopping centre are within walking distance, and the train station to Kuranda is a 15‑minute walk. On Friday evening a punk‑rock open‑air concert was held in the nearby park, and we could watch it free from the balcony, though the band still had room to improve and the show ended at 10 pm. Breakfast was available but not very varied. The pool was quite small and the communal grill was often crowded in the evenings.

The place was well‑located, clean, and the staff were friendly, but there was no cold water in the room for drinking, and the mattress was hard and uncomfortable.
