“Great vibes and a beautiful lodge”

We arrived a bit after the check‑in time and texted the host, who replied instantly that it was fine and let us shower before dinner, pushing our meal back 30 minutes. The place is run by a wonderful family. The onsen is exactly what you need after the first leg of the Kumano Kodo trail. The food was excellent and varied, so even picky eaters would be happy. We hope to return!

Wow! The hosts were absolutely exceptional, the food was amazing, they catered to dietary restrictions, it felt like a welcoming family, the music was great, the value was incredible for how well we were cared for, and the view was spectacular.
