The estate is beautiful, well preserved, and has been elegantly renovated; it’s surrounded by groves and woods and has a history of women empowerment that guests can learn about on site, including a small museum that explains the complex’s past use for women’s education and other purposes. Besides the various guest rooms, the estate hosts a restaurant that’s open to both guests and external customers and is operated independently. The on‑site restaurant would be a major plus because it serves good quality local dishes, but it’s hindered by external customers clogging the parking lots with their cars—there are no reserved spots for sleeping guests. Breakfast for night guests is served in the restaurant, so one would expect a wide range of choices, but it stubbornly offers only cakes and seasonal fruit. There’s a possibility to pre‑order a continental breakfast (omelette, toast, etc.) for an extra charge, yet even that option can’t make up for a breakfast that should include not just sweet items but also yogurt, milk, cereals, eggs, and vegetables. It’s a real pity that there’s no real flexibility, and the breakfast waitress didn’t try to make the experience pleasant and welcoming. Rooms are cleaned daily, but only if the room is vacated by 10 am, which is a challenge if you have children who would rather wake up around that time while enjoying their vacation. That said, the staff is overall responsive and helpful, and the stay can be quite pleasant if these limitations are factored in in advance.
