The rooms were filthy, mosquitoes were everywhere, and the food and drinks were ridiculously pricey— a 500ml bottle of Coke cost KSH 300.

The tent‑style lodging was great and the lake was just a short walk away, but there were no menus for dinner or breakfast.

We had an amazing stay at Olive Lake Elementaita Lodge, with the reception team being kind, welcoming, and professional from the moment we checked in. Our camp was spacious and comfortable, and the tents matched the pictures perfectly. I loved listening to the birds from outside our room in the peaceful, quiet setting where only the birds sang and the trees swayed. The food was a highlight: the menu was excellent, every meal—including breakfast—was freshly prepared and homely. In the morning we took a brief walk to Lake Elementaita to see the flamingos, a memorable experience, and in the evening the staff lit a fire outside and joined us for a warm chat. The lodge is conveniently close to the Nairobi–Nakuru highway, and despite road construction there are plenty of signs to guide guests. Special thanks to Lucy the waitress, Evans, Jimmy, and Chef Amos for making our stay unforgettable. We would definitely return and highly recommend this lodge for peace, comfort, and genuine hospitality. The only wish was for a longer stay, and a written menu would be nice.

A common lounge area outside would be useful, especially for kids.

We stayed in one of the tents, and I have to say, it was a real treat. The tent was cozy, clean, and had a super comfy bed - it was like glamping! There's really nothing to complain about here.
