The Rathbone Hotel, Fitzrovia

I’ve stayed here several times; the hotel is clean and the staff are pleasant and helpful. I wasn’t upset overall, but I was disappointed that there was no breakfast in the dining room because of construction. A free buffet breakfast was available, yet we weren’t informed until the day we left.

“Lovely hotel in excellent location”

The property is absolutely lovely, clean, and the location is exceptional. We appreciated the complimentary light breakfast in the lobby since the restaurant was closed, and Irene in the breakfast area was especially friendly, kind, and helpful. The check‑in staff also arranged for our family members to have rooms across the hall from each other even though we hadn’t booked together—a thoughtful gesture. It was a minor issue that there were no restrooms on the ground or first floors, presumably because the restaurant is currently closed. We needed to use the facilities both before check‑in when we dropped bags, and after check‑out when our flight was in the evening, and it was quite a hassle. Also, we didn’t realize that the room type we booked didn’t include a luggage rack or any drawers. When I called the front desk to ask for a rack, they said it would be available with a room‑size upgrade for an extra 20 pounds a night, so we declined and instead asked for extra hangers, which they supplied.

“We found the location and service to be excellent. Service is excellent.”

The location is excellent, yet the Wi‑Fi kept dropping. To connect you had to bring your device to the lobby, and by the time you returned to your room it had already disconnected, which was extremely inconvenient and frustrating.

“My first time to London and the Rathbone Hotel was a large part of a wonderful experience.”

The hotel was very well kept and all of the staff were exceptional. Nothing negative.
