Being roughly halfway between the airport and my destination made travel a breeze, and the manager was very pleasant and provided useful information about hot springs and local cuisine in advance; having laundry facilities was also a big plus.

The bed wasn’t too firm and was quite comfortable, though I wish there had been two separate showers for men and women, and a trash bin in the room would have been handy in addition to the one in the kitchen.

It’s a genuinely clean and lovely hostel; the spot near the train station is fantastic, the staff are very friendly and give good advice on nearby onsens and baths, and the room comes with a large bed, air‑conditioning, and a table, making it a highly recommendable place for the price. The only drawback is that you have to pay 200 Yen for items such as toothbrushes and towels, but that’s still perfectly reasonable.
