I stayed four nights at the Cocolodge for work. I booked a superior room, which costs noticeably more than a standard one, yet I didn’t see any clear upgrade that justified the higher price. The bathroom and all the furnishings felt dated, falling short of the comfort level of the three‑star rooms I’ve seen in downtown Tananarive, which were cheaper, too. Several advertised items were missing: a kettle, a welcome tray, and a hair dryer. The staff and management were present and fairly friendly, but overall the value for money felt disappointing given what I paid.

The location is great and quiet, and both breakfast and dinner are very good. The staff are all very pleasant, though one front‑desk person pushed hard for external massage services, which made me wonder if there was a personal agenda. The owner and manager are also very friendly and make an effort to greet each customer. The only downside was that the room for two people only had one glass, missing a second one.

The staff were really helpful. There was a small issue with the room, but I was immediately offered a different one.
