The chalet was nicely equipped and spotless, but the internet never worked in the room – I could only get a signal in the restaurant, sitting on hard, uncomfortable benches. The grounds were dimly lit and a dead frog swarmed with flies sat on the path to the chalet, which the friendly owners didn’t seem to mind. Breakfast was a disappointment, and after a rainy night with no Wi‑Fi and slippery bridges on the access road, I left after the first night despite having paid for three.

The farm‑style site run by the owners welcomed us warmly and the homemade breakfast was a real treat. The natural swimming pools are gorgeous, and the forest trail leading to them feels like a true nature immersion. However, we spent the whole stay without Wi‑Fi in the chalet and had to trek back to the main house whenever we needed to go online.

A magnificent place to rest body and mind, with chalets that overlook a breathtaking mountain range and the clear waters of Rio São Miguel contrasting with the rocks. The scenery is impressive, though the constant exposure to raw nature might be a bit much for some guests.
