The spot was great, yet the whole experience lacked any real hospitality; the owners only messaged us on WhatsApp even though they were on site, and when minor mishaps occurred they never showed up to help. The few services offered were far from adequate: food was scarce, became more expensive after we asked for more, and was of poor quality; over four nights the room was only refreshed once; cleanliness was very low; there were no mosquito nets, forcing us to keep the windows shut and rely solely on air‑conditioning. The place is isolated in nature, which is why we chose it, but any needed excursion had an extra charge and even water, which wasn’t available elsewhere, was billed. Two families paid €4,200 for three rooms over four days and an additional €2,000 for tours and water. The excursion guides were friendly and could be booked separately at better rates. The listing’s claim of “Choupanas Awa ‘all inclusive’ em Anavilhanas” is completely misleading – it’s far too pricey for what is actually provided.

When my fiancée and I decided to go to Manaus, we wanted a place deep in the forest for an immersive Amazonian experience, and choosing Parque de Anavilhanas was the best decision, as was staying at Choupanas Awa. The trips, night fishing, water trails, and community visits were amazing, and returning to a tidy, clean, charming, well‑decorated room with lots of care was unmatched. In the common area where we had coffee, lunch, and dinner, the forest soundtrack blended with ambient music at just the right volume and an incredible playlist (check Choupanas Awa on Spotify! it’s there!), plus delightful culinary surprises; the cooks made the best roasted pirarucu we’ve ever eaten! The owners’ attention to guests, professionalizing services, and ensuring high‑quality supplies and skilled kitchen management truly surprised us. That place where you ask for vinaigrette and it comes finely chopped—just knowing the kitchen’s care from the cut alone. The stay was a thousand‑point rating, exceptional staff, owners with affection and dedication to guests, and a wonderful effort to make your forest stay even more enchanting—with elegance, discretion, intimacy, and plenty of magic. Congratulations! I’ll definitely return!

“Great location, exciting excursions off-the-beaten track”

The place is perfect for getting into Anavilhanas NP and Rio Negro wildlife, and its remoteness makes you feel like one of the few visitors; the hotel partners with a fantastic guide for the trips it offers. However, the all‑in board was solid at first but later on the service slipped—bread was missing at breakfast, for example—and running water and air conditioning depend on power, so we dealt with a generator outage that lasted more than a day.
