It’s just a short walk from the Borobudur temple entrance—ideal for the sunrise tour (15 minutes to the meeting point). We had an entire 8‑person dorm to ourselves, and the staff were very friendly. The bathroom felt very disused and had a stagnant smell, probably because few visitors stay here and then head out for a day trip from Yogya. No other complaints!

The staff were friendly, the bed was good, and the dorm room was spacious; the location sits right next to the entrance of the ruins. However, the men's toilet was oddly high, dirty, and smelled terrible, possibly due to a design flaw.

On a weekday I was the only one staying, so even though it was an 8‑person shared room I had the space to myself and could hang clothes out. The spot is close to the usual Borobudur entrance, but if you book the 4:30 sunrise tour you have to meet at the resort on the east side of the whole complex, which means walking half an hour through the dark because no taxis will pick you up. The towels cost extra and feel old; the shower fixtures are outdated and not very clean. There’s a stale, non‑ventilated smell in the room and some small bugs crawling around.

The dorm bed layout with air‑conditioning is great, the bathroom is clean, there are plenty of common sitting areas, and it’s almost directly across from the temple entrance. It’s about a 20‑minute walk from the bus terminal and free drinking water is available. The place looks new and few people stay on weekdays. The only downside is the inflated temple price; you can’t just walk in anymore and the only ticket option is 450000, which allows you to climb the main temple.
