There was a Lawson next door and the staff member who helped me was very nice, but the room I stayed in was disgusting—nothing seemed cleaned or maintained, the tub was dirty, the shower sprayed everywhere, every surface was sticky and you couldn’t leave anything on them, the hanging lights were covered in dust, and the wood around the sink had peeled and eroded; given the type of hotel it is, it wasn’t a great stay.

The room was spacious and the jacuzzi with its atmospheric lights looked stunning; the staff helped out but were a bit slow to reply, and the hotel sits far from the train station with only a garage instead of a proper entrance or reception desk.

“Adult Hotel in Kyoto”

The stay was affordable, the staff stored our luggage for a day and put it in our room, but the location was inconvenient for public transport—better to stay downtown unless you have a car. We got locked out of our room when we left, and the staff claimed we hadn’t locked the door, which was false. The 7 PM check‑in time was inconvenient, there was no lobby and everything was handled by email and intercom, and the adult‑only vibe didn’t feel right for seniors.

The room and bathroom were a decent size, and there’s a bus stop right outside the hotel that takes you to the train station. Contrary to the photo, the front area is a covered parking lot, not a reception; there’s no front desk before 19:00, and you have to ring for someone to come down. Breakfast offered two toast slices, an egg, tiny sausages, fries, and a drink to choose from. Advertised as a “love hotel,” the neighborhood feels a bit hot, and the rooms really need a refresh.
