I parked next to the hotel for 500 yen, but the supposedly non‑smoking room still had a faint cigarette smell; the breakfast was just a cheap boxed lunch, and I had no place to eat it except in my room, and even though it’s near the station, the area feels empty.

Just before the check‑in time on the day of arrival I got an email from the hotel saying that, as a cabin‑type room, women were not allowed to stay and that the hotel was fully booked with no other rooms available. When I showed up, they forced me to pay the full cancellation fee, and the staff seemed indifferent, as if it didn’t matter that I had nowhere to stay. Everything was handled very mechanically; I lacked the energy to look for another place and ended up returning to Tokyo. I wonder if the hotel could have offered any other solution.

The location was convenient, close to the station, and the public bath was modern with colorful lights on the floor and walls, plus they served a boxed breakfast. However, the place had a cheap‑business‑hotel vibe, the walls in the room were scratched and the table veneer was peeling, which made me feel uncomfortable.
