La Chaumière du Tordoir offers a beautiful, peaceful retreat with a relaxed vibe. Catherine and Jacques welcome you like family, not just as B&B guests, and the house’s charm feels natural and comfortable. Guests can freely use the fridge and kitchen, adding to the homely feel. The riverside outdoor area is a highlight, filled with wildlife and an extraordinary sense of peace – perfect for long, quiet sits. Located about 90 minutes from Calais, it’s ideal for an overnight stop, but staying longer is well worth it. There’s plenty to see nearby, and the setting itself is a destination. Breakfast was tasty, and the attentive care made the stay especially special.

The welcome was genuinely friendly. The accommodation was simple and a bit surprising, but in a good way. We liked it!

Despite minor language barriers, there were no problems. The hosts were very friendly and booked us a table at the restaurant. If the book “das haus am Kanal” wasn’t already available, this location would offer the material for it due to its setting.
