We were extremely disappointed with the treatment we received. We didn’t know that the pool required an additional high‑price payment separate from the room rate. To be honest, we wanted a resort, not a hotel, and there were many hotels nearby in Mandaluyong. We used the pool at 3 am and were asked to pay, and if we used it again from 7 am it was another charge. Our stay turned into a disaster; it was supposed to be a happy team‑building trip. They didn’t even let us use the balcony even though it was included in our payment, claiming it was for “guests” – what do they think of us staff? The sheets and chairs were already torn and very itchy. This is not what was presented.

I appreciated that even though the owner was abroad, he was very accommodating and tried to meet our needs. However, the accommodation we were initially “upgraded” to a penthouse had a broken bathroom door. I had booked for 12 people, but the two rooms only had single bunk beds, and only the master bedroom had a bed large enough for three. The sofas and chairs were worn out and covered with sheets to hide the damage. We were also not told beforehand that the pool was not included in our booking. At over P400 per person for just a few hours of swimming, it felt excessive, and we were told that even those who didn’t swim would still need to pay for pool access even if we had rooms booked. We had to make do with what we had and tried to enjoy the moment, but given all this, I feel we should have just booked a hotel instead.
