The staff was very hospitable. The lobby restroom had a hole in the stall that let you see the next stall, and we lost access to our room about an hour before checkout.

We stay here every year for our reunion and love it every time. We won’t stay anywhere else because that’s where the reunion is, and it’s great not having to come from another hotel; we just come downstairs and we’re there. Darla Yarbough is the best and we love her; she’s family, so that’s an extra bonus. The room gets a little warm in the evening, but that’s because the sun shines on it then; we use a small fan to keep the air circulating and that makes it good.

The staff was friendly and the location was perfect for my needs. The room wasn’t clean—urine on the outside of the toilet, dirty walls, trash under the beds, the window was stuck partially open, the room phone didn’t work. My room was never cleaned or restocked the whole week I was there. I was told there were no other rooms to move to.

The facilities were fine but old and pigeons nested on my room porch or balcony. Everyone seemed overwhelmed with the new computer system. I saw several people go down the road because of the room prices and confusion.

The Bistro wasn’t open at 8:00 as the ad said, so I headed down the street to the nearest Whataburger. The parking lot looked a bit rundown, maybe because of too many cold winters; handicap spots were marked but the paint was peeling.
