“The hotel is not worth it, but the location is amazing”
The hotel sits just 50 meters from the pool bar, and if the gate by the bar is shut you can still reach the beach via the main entrance in only a two‑minute stroll. The staff are friendly and most speak English, so talking to them is usually straightforward. The food options were very limited; we think this might have been a seasonal effect, but the hotel should keep the same quality and variety all year round. Every day we got the same menu: French fries and a range of potato dishes, no seafood except fish. Desserts were mostly decent, except for some round cakes with a red topping that tasted awful and made us feel nauseous. The rooms were small and the hotel doesn’t offer true twin rooms with separate single beds; most rooms come with a king‑size bed. We asked for separate beds and were only given a king‑size bed with two mattresses spaced no more than 10 cm apart. The snack bar offered only three items each day—French fries, cordon bleu or breaded cheese, and pizza—and the quality was mediocre at best. The beer was fine, nothing special; the cappuccino was decent, the white wine good, and the Sex on the Beach cocktail enjoyable, but we didn’t like the other drinks. For the roughly €400 we paid, the overall experience was extremely disappointing. The bathroom was absurdly small; the toilet, shower, and sink were crammed into a tiny space that felt like you were showering, using the toilet, and brushing your teeth all in the same spot. Also, if you arrive early and want to check in before the standard time, you’ll have to pay a hefty fee—an early check‑in option would cost an extra 350 RON.
