The place feels like a cabin with several rooms of good quality, but it’s definitely not a hotel. The rooms are very small, but the advantage is a private sauna that you can register for and enter as a couple without others. The location is close to interesting hiking trails – ask the owner for recommendations. Breakfast is modest but good.

On the day of arrival, the weather was rainy and visibility was poor, so the owner enthusiastically introduced us to his father’s Japanese restaurant. The restaurant owner even drove us back and forth. Breakfast was great, and our old dog Sunny was adorable. The restaurant is a bit old; a fresh coat of paint would improve the dining atmosphere.

The manager was very friendly and clearly did what needed to be done. It’s not a large place, but it’s a lodge that can host travelers well. The sign on the front was small and hard to spot, so I was confused whether it was a normal house when I entered.

Breakfast was delicious, and the owner was easy to chat with. The kettle was lukewarm, so it would have been helpful if someone had suggested reboiling it when it got that temperature.
