Caprivi Mutoya Lodge and Campsite

The lodge sits wonderfully on the banks of a lake that feeds into the Zambezi, and its terrace gives a stunning view. The tents are roomy and cozy, and the staff are very friendly and attentive. The owner is warm and offers great advice.

I was able to enjoy a quiet, private experience. The food was not surprising but acceptable, and the staff were very polite, though somewhat pushy.

The owner, Zaine, was friendly and accommodating, making everything run smoothly. Be sure to book the SunsetBoat Tour to see the largest Carmine Bee Eater colony.

The owner was very nice and tried to make our stay as pleasant as possible. However, the water was brown and the towels smelled after a day. We found various insects in the room, the food was unappealing, and the value for money felt lacking. Our only good accommodations were in Namibia. The place also falsely advertised rooms with refrigerators—complete lie.

“Caprivi Mutoya Lodge was a wonderful surprise!”

Caprivi Mutoya Lodge was a wonderful surprise, from beautiful grounds to well‑appointed, comfortable rooms and very friendly staff who went out of their way to make our stay incredible. We arrived after the sunset cruise had already left the jetty, an experience we had all been looking forward to. We were thrilled to find that they had arranged for the cruise boat to return so we didn’t miss the beautiful sunset on an otherwise lovely day, finishing it off with the most delicious lasagne under a big tree on the deck overlooking the waterfront, complete with an inviting bonfire. If we ever go to that part of the world again, we won’t hesitate to stay.
