The hotel is beautiful and clean, feels safe, has good facilities and a wide range of products. However, there were two major drawbacks. The breakfast buffet was huge and offered many options, but most were geared toward Asian tastes, and several items were not very appealing to European guests. Given the buffet’s size, there should be at least one small but well‑rounded section with European‑style choices. Moreover, almost none of the staff spoke English; communication relied on gestures or a translation app. It’s extremely disappointing for a five‑star hotel that management hasn’t ensured enough staff have at least basic English skills for international guests.

I had a very good stay in the center of Shanghai at this modern hotel, and I will definitely return.

The bathroom and the curtains are fully automatic and work perfectly, and the hotel lobby impressed me, but the breakfast didn’t match the quality of the one at Hilton Tianhe in Guangzhou and the stir‑fry selection was far too limited.
