Araf Hotel

The hotel is very central and close to everything, and the breakfast is good. The rooms are small with barely enough space to unpack more than one suitcase. The guy at reception was very unfriendly and not welcoming at check‑in, whereas the lady handling check‑out and the breakfast staff were friendly.

“Claustrofobisch klein, kom hier niet meer terug.”

The location was excellent—just a short walk from Mevlana Mosque. The rooms are tiny, with no walking space; the door to the toilet and bathroom is a sliding door because another door is impossible due to the space. You step from the bed straight into the toilet. The rooms are unimaginably small, making me feel claustrophobic. I’ve never experienced this before. I understand the location is valuable, but please make the rooms a bit wider; you earn more than enough for €100 per night for two people in Turkey. Either lower the price or enlarge the rooms. Again, no walking space— a closed cabin suitcase barely fits next to the bed. There’s no room for a chair in the room, but there are wall hooks to hang clothes. I chose this hotel because of its rating, but that rating is really misleading. People are tempted to give high scores because the staff behaves very nicely.

“Very bad experience”

I liked the location, but the staff were awful. I paid 75 euro in cash for a round‑trip transfer, and on the way back they gave me a yellow cab instead of a car. The desk clerk was creepy and kept messing up the pricing.

The lobby looks artistic and cozy, and the location is excellent. The house structure is too odd, with old items and many pieces of furniture and appliances that look decades old, making the rooms feel oppressive.
