The location is idyllic in the mountains, the staff is charming, the pool is lovely but a bit cold, the food is delicious though the portions are too large, and there’s wildlife around. Our room, the studio, was very spacious and pleasant. No air conditioning was needed. The mattress needs a refresh, and the peace is sometimes disturbed by noisy families with children, which is a pity.

“Superb stay in idyllic location”

An idyllic place to stay fully immersed in nature. For us, it was paradise. Arriving at Villa Lé Maas felt like stepping into another world: quiet, nature, a beautiful villa, huge bedrooms, spacious bathrooms, all spotless, manicured gardens. Everything was stylishly decorated and organized. We couldn’t get enough of it. We were five and had three suites. We also had breakfast and dinner twice at the villa. All the food was delicious, served at your time at the central big table. Thank you, chefs. We enjoyed the pool with an amazing view and relaxed an afternoon in the gardens. This is a place to enjoy, so make time to hang around. Thank you to the wonderful, very friendly and helpful staff—everyone accommodated any request always with a big smile. We would love to return. We highly recommend Villa Lé Maas. This was a fully satisfactory experience. Thank you to all the staff. There is nothing to complain about.

“Three nights just wasn’t long enough!”

We booked ten hotels in SriLanka over a month, and this place really stood out. The spot is gorgeous, tucked at the end of a steep, winding forest road. Our family suite was huge and tastefully decorated, with a massive bathroom that had a separate bath and shower—one of the nicest rooms I’ve seen in ages. The gardens and pool area are kept in top shape, perfect for unwinding, and we even spotted monkeys strolling through the grounds without bothering us. The food was a highlight; the two chefs did a stellar job handling allergies, and we enjoyed planning each evening’s dinner and then eating outdoors under the stars. Breakfast was so generous that we asked for less after day one. There’s no bar, so bring your own wine and beer. The set menu we got ahead of time seemed rigid, but the chef was surprisingly flexible once you asked. The staff were exceptional, caring and meticulous—helping us walk to a waterfall, showing us spices and fruit trees, and making everything feel effortless. The hotel feels magical and is definitely on our list of must‑return places. The downside is that all the sun beds with umbrellas are clustered together, so it’s harder to relax when other guests’ energetic kids jump around in the pool. Luckily, the terrace view from our room is just as lovely.

“An unforgettable little sanctuary in nature”

This hidden gem is surrounded by nature and feels like a secret place few know about. With only five rooms, the boutique hotel feels intimate, peaceful, and personal. From the moment we arrived, Malintha, the manager, and his wonderful team made us feel genuinely welcome and cared for. Their warmth and attention turned us from guests into home‑like residents. The chef deserves a shoutout—food is absolutely incredible, beautifully presented, and among the most delicious we’ve had on this trip. I’ve stayed in many hotels worldwide, and this is by far one of the most special places I’ve ever experienced, not because it competes with grand luxury hotels, but because it offers unique charm, soul, warmth, and a true sense of place. We stayed for four days and could have easily extended for another week without leaving the hotel. It’s a sanctuary that makes you want to slow down, forget the outside world, and simply stay. An unforgettable little sanctuary in nature, and I’d return in a heartbeat.
