Clean and tidy. No negatives.

The staff were friendly, the capsule‑style beds were more private than bunk beds and came with blinds. Showers and toilets were spotless and came with plenty of high‑quality free toiletries. The room had good air‑conditioning. The kitchen/common area was large, and they also offered an open‑air kitchen so cooking food with strong smells didn’t taint the room. The pillow and blanket were clean and comfortable. The futon mattress was very thin, so it wasn’t the most comfortable, but not terrible. Check‑in starts at 17:00, which is quite late. The outdoor luggage lockers were too small for a medium suitcase, so we had to use the bike‑lock system they offered, which worked but felt a bit risky with the hostel next to a motorway. We also had to download the Line app to talk to them before check‑in, which was annoying. The location is convenient for Futamino Ura Shrine, but it’s far from central Ise and the main shrines; travellers should note the train is infrequent and the station there lacks IC card readers, though that’s beyond the hostel’s control. They do offer rental bikes at a good price.

The owner was super enthusiastic, but having the accommodation locked from 11:00 to 17:00 was a bit inconvenient.

The place was incredibly clean and even had a large living room as a public area, plus a ladies‑only bathroom with a sink and hair dryer so you could wash completely alone; the sleeping area felt spacious and each capsule had a desk. The capsules get a bit hot, so if you’re sensitive you can ask the front desk for a fan at check‑in; walking from the station to the hostel has no street lights, so solo late‑night travelers should be careful.
