Everything was fine!
“2nd time at the Selvatica, comfortable stay!”
Even with the language barrier (Google Translate saved us), the staff was fantastic—super helpful and friendly, making our stay comfortable. Breakfast was basic, a typical European/Italian spread: juice, pastries, coffee, yogurt, and cold cuts. The bathrooms were big, but the shower in the downstairs larger room for 3+ people was tiny, and the upstairs shower needs non‑slip strips—my 80‑year‑old mom slipped there.
The night was disturbed by a cockroach.
“A cosy and relaxing country house with a traditional feel to it.”
We were heading from southern Italy back to Ireland and needed a place to crash overnight; we ended up getting more than we asked for. We arrived very late because of heavy traffic, but Oliver was kind enough to wait for us until well after midnight. We were assigned a downstairs room, which was convenient because we had a dog with us. The property features a large enclosed garden with nice seating on the terrace. The room comfortably accommodated the five of us for one night, with comfortable beds and an ensuite bathroom. Breakfast was pleasant and sufficient; we didn't expect a luxurious buffet. We also had a nice chat with Ericka, the owner, which made us feel welcome and relaxed. The only downside was that the accommodation is practically part of the owners’ home, so moving around can feel a bit awkward and some might find it lacking in privacy, but it was fine for us for just one night.
