The room was clean and bright, the air conditioning and Wi‑Fi worked great, and there’s a supermarket within a five‑minute walk. I liked that I could check in in the morning when it isn’t hot. The owners didn’t reply to my message, but they still met me. The room is on the second floor and the owners live on the first floor. They are a good Sinhalese family who live very simply. We communicated a little in English and used an online translator into Sinhalese.

The AC and the bed were good, the staff was very friendly, although speaking English was not very easy. The private bathroom and simple kitchen were a bonus. The room smelled unpleasant, kind of like urine, and there was a dead cockroach behind the bed (dead, not alive) and a very dirty fridge made me question the overall cleanliness.
