The mattresses left us with sore backs when we woke up, proving they could be much better; the receptionist barely spoke English, which was surprising for an American hotel, and we chose it only because it was cheaper.

I dropped my bags on the bed, walked to the store, came back, and found the room covered in mold, a ceiling falling in the bathroom, and overall filth; I took my belongings back to the car and returned the key to the office.
