“The BEST place to stay in Riomaggiore!”

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Alla Marina!!! The location is amazing. Our room was Room 1. We had a beautiful view of the harbor and it was actually quite easy to get to and from the train station. Upon arrival the hotel staff met us at the train station and helped us carry our bags. The hotel is only a short walk and few stairs from the Riomaggiore pedestrian tunnel. Yes, there is a long flight of stairs in the hotel, but it was definitely manageable. Our room was AMAZING!!!! We had a comfortable bed in a spacious bedroom with a window to hear the sounds of the waves from below. The kitchen is well equipped and even had a clothes washer (I loved hanging my clothes on the clothes line like a real Italian). There are many restaurants and even a grocery store right out our front door. The owners of the hotel were very kind and attentive. This is THE place to stay in the Cinque Terre!

Getting around Riomaggiore was a breeze thanks to the proximity to the port and Main Street, though there were a few steps—fewer than at other places. The hot afternoon sun made the terrace unusable until late evening, which was a drawback.
