“Dishonest business, dirty and noisy room”
I booked two separate stays at this hotel because I had a multi‑day trekking tour in between. When making my reservation, I specifically asked for a quiet room. At my first check‑in, the front desk demanded payment for both stays upfront. Since credit card payments carried extra fees, I paid in cash, but the front desk didn’t give me an invoice or receipt, which felt very unprofessional. After my first stay I cancelled the second reservation because of several unacceptable issues: the room was dirty, ants were everywhere, and the music from the bar next door was extremely loud from 9 p.m. until midnight. Despite requesting a quiet room at booking, the hotel failed to provide a peaceful environment. Getting enough sleep was crucial because I was acclimatising to high altitude and preparing for hikes. The front desk offered me earplugs, but I declined because they’re uncomfortable to sleep in; guests shouldn’t have to rely on earplugs just to get a decent night’s sleep. The most concerning part was how the hotel handled my refund. I received an official email confirming the hotel accepted my cancellation and that I would receive a refund for the second stay. When I returned to collect my cash refund, the front desk suddenly claimed the cancellation approval was a mistake and refused to return my money. When I asked for help, the property reportedly told staff that I had never paid for my second stay, which is untrue—I had paid for both stays upfront in cash at check‑in. Because the hotel had not provided an invoice or receipt, I had no official payment document, making the situation even more difficult. They initially told me they would help follow up with the property regarding the refund.
