“Shining 2.0”
The young man at the front desk was pleasant and professional, yet we had told them we’d arrive around 21:00 and tried calling with no reply. When we got there, the hotel was closed and dark; the building didn’t match the photos, which I find misleading. Two numbers were listed on the door, but they didn’t answer. After about fifteen minutes, the manager called back but spoke only German, which we don’t understand, and we tried Google Translate. Instead of helping, he blamed us for not arriving earlier at 18:00. He said he would come, but thirty minutes later no one was there. When we called again he hung up. We eventually learned he had been on site all along and opened the door at 21:52. Inside, the atmosphere was grim, like a horror film set reminiscent of The Shining. The hallway rugs were dirty and warped; the bathroom was in a deplorable state with mold, grime, yellowed toilets, and a clearly neglected shower that was so limescale‑covered it didn’t drain properly and splashed sideways. The room itself was worse: broken fire alarms, peeling baseboards, missing fixtures, exposed cables, and very old fittings. The sheets were so thin you could see through them. Overall, everything was extremely dirty and neglected. Between the unpleasant reception, endless wait, and the condition of the property, the experience was catastrophic. I strongly advise against staying here; the online photos do not reflect what we found on site. P.S. The breakfast was mediocre.
