“Lovely one-night stay”
Friendly staff greeted me, and my room was immaculate with soft, muted furnishings, attractive fittings, and a small en‑suite shower featuring a good‑sized vintage‑style shower. The bed was large and very comfortable. A complimentary glass of locally‑produced whisky with homemade shortbread was a nice touch, and the pod‑style coffee machine in the room was handy. The Boar's Head sits in a historic village; although the hotel has a bar and an acclaimed restaurant, I slept peacefully. Breakfast was tasty, offering a good range of homemade options, and free on‑street parking is available in front of the hotel. The room, though pretty and cosy, was not large, leaving little space to manoeuvre around the bed, which could feel awkward for couples. Four clothes hangers were on an attractive open rack by the bed—enough for a one‑night stay, but extra hangers might help couples or longer stays.
