“Decent room near temple”
The rooms are clean and close to the temple, but please don’t leave the window light on at night; with a thin screen and glass it shines directly on your face because the bed is next to the window and it ruins sleep. I tried turning it off twice, yet it stayed on. The main power switch outside the room was turned off in the morning, forcing us to wake early due to power outages. Later we learned someone had switched it off. When asking on the spot for a rate for three people, I was quoted the same price as mine but with AC, whereas we were given a rate without AC even though we booked a month earlier for two people. Other guest houses on the same lane offer similar rooms with AC at comparable rates. The owner quoted standard local tour rates for the auto, while other guest houses offered the same service at slightly lower, negotiated prices. The owner could match that for his own room.
“Ubicación excepcional para conocer de cerca Hampi”
The accommodation’s location and Mahesh’s friendliness were great; he helped us visit Hampi, arranged a courteous and professional driver named Sadiq for airport transfers, and connected us with Parashu, a friendly and professional rickshaw driver in Hampi.
I stayed in a clean room even though the building is old, and Mr. Mahesh was courteous and helpful. Parking isn’t provided, so he directed me to the bus stand, shuttled my luggage in an auto and a scooter, and I had to walk about 500 mtrs; the street can accommodate an auto, so that method works, but guests should be aware of the arrangement.
The location is great and the place is clean; there were no negatives.
Mahesh is a very friendly and helpful host who organized transport and solved a problem we had with a pre‑arranged driver; the accommodation is well equipped with air‑conditioning, hot water, and a comfortable bed, and it’s just a 2‑minute walk from the main temple and close to good restaurants and small shops—definitely a place we’d stay again if we return to beautiful Hampi.
