HOTEL AN Shinjuku Kabukicho

The location was great—close to Shinjuku’s downtown and a short walk to the train station. The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and well serviced daily. However, the reception area felt awkward; I never saw the faces of the staff I dealt with in the morning when we left or in the evening when we returned. We had a small waist‑level “window” where we passed keys and talked through—very odd but it worked.

The comfort and service met expectations. We left our belongings at the counter before departure, asked to have them sent to the airport, and were ready to pay the shipping fee because we had time before takeoff. But the request was denied by the hotel. That service should be reconsidered.

“Comfortable, romantic hotel for our honeymoon”

The room and its facilities were great, and every staff member was very friendly, especially with the 24‑hour front desk. The room matched the photos but was a bit smaller than I had imagined, yet overall we were very satisfied. The only drawback was having to leave the key at the front desk during the day, which made it hard to stop by the hotel for a quick break.

“Helemaal Top. 10 min lopen van de metro”

The toiletries were extensive, and there was a separate shower area in the room with a jacuzzi that had a steam function. The bed was huge, the TV was huge, and it was very quiet with no street noise.

“Amazing, place to stay.”

The staff really went the extra mile – when I stepped outside into the rain, one of them ran out with an umbrella just as I was turning back for my coat. Small gestures, but they left a big impression. The only downside was having to leave 😕
